Competitive soccer at U14 and up.
Our older age groups step up to competitive play. Here's who it's for, how tryouts work, and what to expect if your player wants a spot.
Our U14 and U16 competitive teams are for players ready to take the next step — kids who want more touches, tougher matches, and a real step toward high school soccer.
Everyone is welcome to try out. Rec players moving up, travel veterans, and first-time competitive players all start here.
Tryouts run over two evenings before the fall season. Players are evaluated on technical skill, game sense, effort, and coachability — not just who scores the most goals.
Can't make a tryout date? Reach out and we'll find a time. No player is turned away for a scheduling conflict.
Competitive teams practice twice a week with weekend games against nearby towns. The fall season runs roughly ten weeks, with an optional winter skills program.
We ask families for consistent attendance — the team depends on it — but we also know soccer isn't the only thing in a kid's life.
A willingness to work, a good attitude with teammates and refs, and a love of the game. Skills can be taught; effort and respect set the tone for the whole team.
Email the Competitive Director at comp@nsysa.org to get on the tryout list, or ask any board member at a Saturday game. We'll follow up with dates, times, and what to bring.
